Mom’s wish to go under the sea in a yellow submarine (it was actually yellow) was finally fulfilled today! After a fun BBQ lunch on deck 6, my sister and mom got ready for their submersible dive. Turned out 2 of the others on their sub were a couple we have run into several times, which was nice that they knew 2 others on the sub and were able to exchange some pictures of each other.
I was able to see them off from the midship then I went up to deck 5 where I was able to watch them go off to the sub! When they returned I met them in the midship. We had enough time to make a quick stop in our rooms before we headed to the Aula to hear about the plan for tomorrow.
The weather was gorgeous today, and we hope for similar conditions tomorrow. We are heading north for our next stop, and the plan is for a landing where we will see chinstrap penguins – some times referred to as the middle child of the brush tailed penguins.
Tomorrow may be a fuller day for us. Currently my mom and I are booked for another SOB ride at 9am, then all 3 of us for a landing. Then at 1pm, my sister and I are slated to finally kayak. And then a bonus for me at 3pm will be that I will join a science excursion where they use the hydrophone to listen and record sounds of the ocean.
