A week before

In a week I will head from Honolulu to Oakland, CA to meet up with my mom and sister. I get there Friday, and then Sunday we start our journey south. And then further south.

I have been following along with others who have taken the cruise on the Viking Expedition Antarctica Cruises Facebook pages. Learning from what others have experienced, and packed! One of the things I learned that has me excited as a meteorologist is that they launch weather balloons from the ship! At the very least if they launch any, I should be able to watch. But its also possible I may be able to assist in the launch. Seeing as I launch a balloon on shift by clicking a button, actually launching a balloon will be right up my alley!

I’m trying to be minimal in my packing, yet ensure that I have everything I need. I’m also trying to be forward thinking so that my 2 nights in Oakland, and my 1 night in Buenos Aires won’t necessitate me unpacking all my stuff. Fingers crossed I manage that well!

Between now and when I leave Hawaii, I have 4 more shifts to work, 1 meeting for the CFF VLC, hopefully 1 (or 2) more Jazzercise classes, and 1 Chiefs game to watch with friends!
